Common Sewer Pipe Problems
Our sewer pipes work hard to transport waste materials from our homes and businesses, but they’re far from perfect. In fact, they face a lot of potentials problems, and once those problems strike, a whole lot of trouble can break loose. Some of the most common sewer pipe problems include:
- Corrosion caused by water and waste
- Calcification and scale buildup
- Clogs and excess buildup
- Tree root intrusions
- Cracks, breaks, and leaks
- Old pipes not staying up and running and needing too frequent repairs
Pipelining Services
When it comes to repairing your pipelining, we want to repair it without causing significant damage to the pipe, your yard, and your plumbing system, which is why we use pipelining rehabilitation methods like cured-in-place pipe that repairs your pipes from the inside. Pipelining rehabilitation is essentially a pipe within a pipe that helps prevent issues and bursting. Pipelining rehabilitation is one of the most cost-effective and time-saving methods available. It eliminates the need for the traditional open trench method repairs, which involves digging up your yard to access the pipes below it.
When pipe bursting is not an option, pipelining is the answer. Pipelining allows for sewer rehabilitation in one day. Pipelining is a jointless, seamless pipe within a pipe. A resin saturated felt tube is pulled in using state of the art technology. This is usually done through an entrance point to the pipe, which can be accessed through either a manhole or a man-made hole that is created with minimal damage. The felt is then heated to 125 degrees Fahrenheit to ensure proper curing of the epoxy resin.
Pipelining has many benefits, especially since it doesn’t require excavation. Other benefits include its ability to reduce leaks and infiltration without drilling holes into the pipe. It also has a smooth interior and no joints, making installation a seamless experience.
What is Pipe Bursting?
Pipe bursting is another form of sewer pipe replacement. During pipe bursting, we essentially insert another pipe that is the same size as the current one, which forces the old one to crack and break apart. The new one then seamlessly takes over for the old one. Pipe bursting allows us to replace old or damaged pipes without having to completely dig up your yard. Both pipe bursting and pipelining are great methods for replacing old pipes.
Finding the Problem Using Video Inspections
Because pipes are hard to access (they’re literally underground!), it can be difficult to determine what is causing them to malfunction. This is why we specialize in using video inspections to get to the source of the issue. We use state of the art video technology to view the interiors of pipes using a camera. This way, we can also spare your yard while determining what is causing your pipes not to work.
